New art exhibition in Gallery III by Pauline Tallent, opening reception on March 1, 6-9pm during the First Friday Gallery Walk.
Pauline Tallent is fascinated with the idea of making, she started sewing at the age of 7, oil painting at the age of 9, and went on to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Oklahoma State University and Master of Fine Arts from the University of Oklahoma. Tallent uses lines and spaces in paintings and mixed media, as a language creating an illusion of space. This concept originates from her early years of sewing, in how lines and spaces are put together to transform a two-dimensional piece to a three-dimensional piece. Tallent focuses on subject matter that gives her the ability to assemble abstract shapes or spaces within something real. She will be displaying a combination of oil paintings displaying unique compositions of nature, as well as mixed media assemblage.
