2026 Call for Proposals

Now Open!

ABOUT THE FEAST PROGRAM

FEAST (Funding Emerging Artists Through Sustainable Tactics) is an annual artist grant program in Oklahoma managed by the Paseo Arts Association that gives five hopeful artists an opportunity to receive up to $2,000 in financial support from the community to fund their creative vision, project or artistic endeavors. Every summer, a call for proposals opens, and every fall, an event is hosted where finalists pitch their idea and the community selects a winner

HOW IT WORKS

1. Artists submit their creative project proposals to be considered as a finalist, and a committee made up of arts professionals reviews proposals and selects up to five finalists.

2. Patrons purchase a ticket to attend the FEAST event and receive a voting token. They enjoy a delicious dinner, a cash bar, and a chance to meet the finalists before the finalists give their pitch.

3. The five finalists give a five-minute presentation about their proposal! Afterwards, all patrons will vote for their favorite with a FEAST token! Then votes are tallied.

4. The winner is announced at the end of the event and will receive funding provided by half of the ticket sales for their proposal, with the possibility of additional donations in their ballot boxes (the winning artist/group will receive a check within two weeks of the event.

2025 WINNER:

NICOLE POOLE & SPARK! CREATIVE LAB - DITTY BOPS: THE ART OF LISTENING

We want to congratulate this year's winners: Nicole Poole & SPARK! Creative Lab! The group will use its grant of $2,125 to fund "Ditty Bops: The Art of Listening," a multidisciplinary performance and art installation centered on the voices of Oklahoma City Veterans. In partnership with SPARK! Creative Lab's core team of artists and over 50 OKC veterans have collaborated to translate their lived experiences into symbolic and artistic forms: masks, movement, music, and Morse code scores that become the foundation for an original performance and art exhibit at Oklahoma Contemporary this November.

“Ditty Bops: The Art of Listening is important to my artistic career because it embodies the core of my work: using the arts as a tool for individual and social well-being. For over a decade, I have created projects that cross disciplines and communities, and this work brings that vision into urgent alignment with one of Oklahoma’s greatest needs: the health and visibility of our veterans.”

2023: Paige Chance - MiLK HOUSE CRMX

MiLK HOUSE CRMX offers slowly made, decorative and functional ceramic housewares, as well as private ceramics lessons, workshops and an off-grid lodging experience aimed toward eco-conscious consumers looking to learn the art of ceramics in a tranquil environment surrounded by nature. 2022: Kris Newlin - People of the Prairie

A portrait project of commissioned art made accessible by freeing up financial barriers for the recipients, culminating in a beautiful tapestry of diversity of people of all ages and backgrounds that call Oklahoma home. The collection will form a show of portraits and short stories highlighting the complex connection of the community of "People of the Prairie."

In October 2024, People of the Prairie was displayed in Gallery III of the Paseo Arts and Creativity Center!

"I continue to do the work that I've started with Paseo FEAST and gained momentum. It really helped me solidify my vision and be part of the local community of artists. Thank you to everyone who helped me along the way! I've been a mentor for the past two years for other FEAST participants and that's been really exciting. I'm looking forward to this year!" -Kris Newlin

2017: LaQuincey Reed - Freed and Western

Reed's winnings from FEAST led to the Creation of bronze sculptures in a project exploring the similarities in attitudes, culture and entrepreneurship of African-Americans in "Western" culture and urban African-American culture.

"A good portion of my sculptures involve the contributions of the Black community to the West. Bronze sculpture is a very involved and expensive medium to work with. Through Paseo FEAST, I was able to use the funds to help with the costs associated with casting a bronze sculpture. Very soon after, my sculpture was featured in Southwest Art Magazine as an artist to watch. I was contacted because of that feature to be included in the Buffalo Bill Art Show and Sale in Cody, WY, with nationally known western artists, and I’ve been in the show since 2018. I truly believe that Paseo FEAST helped launch my career and open me to other opportunities and connections. Every year I encourage other artists to apply because the event is so valuable to me." -LaQuincey Reed
