POSITION OVERVIEW

Position Type: FULL-TIME

The Community Engagement Manager oversees all fundraising campaigns and sponsorships, logistics for the Paseo Arts Festival, manages all grant writing including mid-term and final reports, and maintains donor relations for all programs for the Paseo Arts Association. The position is full-time and year-round with occasional required evening and weekend activities and is a key team member of the staff. This position reports to the Executive Director ensuring the success of the PAA’s fundraising and community relation efforts and is a team member for all of PAA’s activities. The candidate must be comfortable with customer service duties and working in a shared and open office space. The ideal candidate will be inspired by the mission of the PAA with a passion for extending the experience of art and art making through relevant and exciting marketing and communications efforts throughout the community.

HOURS AND COMPENSATION

  • 40 hours a week, between 9am and 5pm, in-person, remote option not available.

  • Some nights and weekends required for events. Must work all three days of the Paseo Arts Festival.

  • Commensurate with experience $45,000-$55,000 salary range

  • Benefits include health, dental, life, vision and disability insurance. Simple IRA after one year.

About the Organization/Business:

The Paseo Arts District is Oklahoma City’s Unique Arts Destination and home to over 20 galleries and more than 80 vibrant artists all within walking distance of each other on the curved, two-block street that has maintained its Spanish revival architecture with its original stucco buildings and clay roof tiles. Intermixed with the galleries are restaurants, art schools, boutiques and other businesses.

In 1981, the Paseo Arts Association (PAA) was founded to foster and maintain an environment for artistic growth in the community. A non-profit 501(c)3 organization, the PAA provides the opportunity for cultural exchange between artists and the public through events, performances, festivals, and educational programming.

In early 2020, the PAA moved from 3022 Paseo to 3024 Paseo to the newly established Paseo Arts and Creativity Center. With quadruple the square footage, the PAA has expanded programs to better serve artists and the community including career-building classes to artists, partnerships with art groups and non-profits for workshops, expanded art class offerings. New facilities include three art galleries, a community meeting space with A/V, a dedicated photography studio for member use and professional rental, an expanded gift shop and 11 artist studio spaces available for rent.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership

  • Assist the Executive Director in managing on-going operation, improvement, and growth of the organization

  • Play a leadership role in nurturing new partnerships and managing on-going relationships between the PAA and community organizations, businesses, and educational institutions

  • Provide responsive and noble leadership to ensure fundraising initiatives align with strategic priorities

  • Act as an ambassador for the PAA at community arts events

Development

  • Identifies and cultivates donors and PAA membership, securing gifts to support the PAA

  • Develop and implement strategies for planned giving and secure bequests from donors

  • Cultivate new donor relationships with individuals, businesses, and other funding organizations

  • Writes and researches new grant opportunities

  • Monitor donor analytics and produce dashboards for board meetings

Fundraising

  • Manage all solicitation and communication to sponsors for the PAA’s annual events including the Awards Dinner and Paseo Arts Festival

  • Work with staff to create all sponsorship print materials and coordinate printing letters and distribution for all fundraising campaigns

  • Manage all in-kind asks for events including selecting venues and vendors, managing volunteer schedules, and working with staff to ensure proper promotion and logo placement

  • Recruit new sponsors on the individual and corporate level

  • Create and distribute quarterly sponsor newsletters

Festival

  • Coordinate all logistics including artist, vendor and city contracts and communications

Teamwork

  • Be a true team player and work closely to support other PAA staff members as needed

  • Be a key participant in supporting a culture that prioritizes teamwork

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, public relations, nonprofit management, or related degree with 3 years of fundraising experience; Master’s degree or CFRE preferred

  • Collaborative disposition skilled in working as part of productive teams

  • Acute detail orientation and excellent organizational skills

  • Performs superiority customer service with high expectations for quality

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, think creatively, and problem-solve

  • Self-aware of own strengths and weaknesses and how those fit within a team dynamic

  • Excellent verbal and written communications

  • Excellent time management skills

  • Aptitude in learning new technology quickly

  • Proficiency in word processing, email, social media, databases, and some skill in Adobe Creative Suite preferred

  • Love for the arts!

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer majority of the work day

  • Ability to assist with installing artwork, moving walls and pedestals, and other physical labor as needed

  • Ability to drive with reliable transportation
