GALLERY I - Echoes of Nature, David Gipson
David Gipson is a local artist and owner of Gipson Design + Build Company in Oklahoma City. A native Oklahoman and a graduate from Oklahoma City University with a bachelor’s degree in art, he studied with artists Brunel Ferris and Cheryl Cozad of OCU during his time at the university. Gipson has been a practicing artist for over 30 years, exhibiting in Oklahoma City, Tulsa and Dallas.
Gipson is best known for his mixed-media artwork that explores the connection between people and nature. His mix of abstract and realistic imagery with bold colors creates dreamlike scenes that he believes “invites the viewer into a world that is both beautiful and mysterious, where some things are clear and others feel just out of reach.”
