Tour de Quartz is an annual showcase of student artwork from the Oklahoma Summer Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain (OSAI). Artwork is featured from the Drawing & Painting and Photography disciplines, taught by Daphne Arthur and Janelle Lynch respectively. Drawing & Painting students learned how to translate the world onto a flat surface by exploring various 2D mediums and immersive projects. This interdisciplinary approach culminated with their final project using oil paint: interpreting the concept of Utopia. Photography students used black and white film cameras and developed their own prints in the darkroom. They also explored using a large format 4 x 5 camera, which contributed to the composition of their final project.
