Gallery II: Flora, Fauna and the Unexpected - Peg Jewell

On Tour by Peg Jewell

Gallery II will feature a solo show by Peg Jewell titled Flora, Fauna and the Unexpected which highlights the unusual beauty of nature.

The medium for this exhibit is watercolor which the artist has deemed as the preferred medium when creating her art.

In regards to Flora, Fauna and the Unexpected, Jewell states that “This work in watercolor combines the elements of beauty and fun in focusing on the wonder and vibrancy found in nature and experience often in unusual perspectives, color choices and even subject matter.”

Jewell is an artist who enjoys painting the unexpected and she hopes her art makes guests visiting the Paseo Arts and Creativity Center ponder the unexpected moments and their beauty.

Gallery III: People of the Prairie - Kris Newlin

Gallery III will be the home for Kris Newlin’s exhibit People of the Prairie, a portrait project that promotes non-profit organizations aimed at helping Oklahomans through their struggles in life.

According to the artist, “this project is a merging of my two biggest passions helping people overcome pain in their lives and using art as a catalyst for positive change.” Newlin is a mixed media artist, art therapist, and licensed professional counselor who loves connecting with people and painting their portraits.

Prints of the paintings are sold for $30.00 each to raise funds for the organizations. The painting itself will either be given to the person behind the portrait or to the represented organization.
